Travel Training
Travel Training Program
MACOG offers free travel training to help individuals use Transpo, the Interurban Trolley, and other available transportation services safely and independently.
Through travel training, individuals can learn to navigate public transportation and feel more comfortable traveling independently. Training may cover understanding routes and schedules, boarding and exiting the bus, paying fares, finding bus stops, and planning trips to common destinations.
The goal is to help people build confidence, access transportation more easily, and connect with employment, education, healthcare, shopping, and community activities.
What do we teach?
Understanding Routes and Schedules - Learn how to identify routes, read schedules, find bus stops, and determine when and where to board.
Fares and Passes - Understand fare options, how to pay, and how to use transit passes.
Boarding and Riding the Bus - Learn how to board and exit, recognize your stop, follow passenger guidelines, and ride safely.
Trip Planning and Navigation - Practice planning trips, making transfers when needed, and navigating the system.
Transportation Options and Accessibility - Learn about available transportation services, accessibility features, and how to identify the option that best meets your needs.
